Last night, we had a lengthy conversation with Jordon’s oncologist. As you know Jordon had an MRI earlier this week. There is a spot in his brain that is growing. Previously, the oncologist thought it was scar tissue, but now there is a possibility that it is actually tumor growing. Dr. Glantz has ordered a special scan to help us determine what the matter is made of. It is kind of like an MRI, but instead of showing images of the brain, it actually shows what matter is composed of. It wasn’t until we really talked with Dr. Glantz last night that we understood the gravity of the situation.
This scan has been scheduled for July 9th, however, Dr. Glantz thinks it is imperative to try and get this scan sooner, he is hoping to have the scan scheduled by the middle of next week. He wanted Jordon to hold off on the chemotherapy until after the scan, but after much thought and discussion, Jordon will continue with chemotherapy cycle starting tonight. Jordon will also have the special scan as well as another MRI in 4 weeks, instead of every other month.
Based on the results of the scan, we will discuss further treatment options. If it is TIPP (Treatment induced Pseudo Progression) which is just a swelling of the tissue caused by the chemo and radiation, then Jordon will continue with the oral chemotherapy and monthly scans. If it is indeed tumor growing, then Jordon will switch to an IV form of chemotherapy that will have to be delivered at the hospital on a daily basis.
We don’t want to worry family members, because, after all it is in the Lord’s hands, but we would again appreciate prayers, faith, and fasting. Jordon truly is a miracle, and we feel a big part of it is because of the outpouring of love and faith from all of you. It is truly humbling. We love and appreciate all of you. We will post more information as we get it. Thank you again!!!!
