The staples are out and on to rehab!!!

Again, a lot of progress was made today. Jordon was having fun brushing his teeth all morning. Good oral care is very important :o). He also did an excellent job with the Speech pathologist. He counted, and pointed out the shapes right, and when the speech pathologist did a swallow test, he passed enough to be on a restricted soft and pureed foods diet.

Yeah pureed meatloaf and vegetables (big YUCK) with a nice helping of nasty broth. :o(

Right after the speech pathologist finished, physical therapy came in and Jordon didn't really feel like standing up (his head hurt and he was tired), but he was a good sport, and got up anyway. They helped Jordon take about 4 steps, but when they had him try and step backward, he had another seizure. It only lasted about 3 seconds, but they weren't like the postictal seizures. It was more like his grand mal. It really wore Jordon out, so he slept until about 4:30 pm. He is really doing remarkable though. The doctors and nurse practioner weren't overly concerned. There is still a lot of pressure from swelling in the brain. Tomorrow he will move to rehab and began extensive physical, speech, occupational and recreational therapy. The therapists even said they had a horseback riding program specifically for neurological patients!!!!

As an added on bonus. They took out Jordon's 53 staples and 1 suture!!!

Wendi we are so grateful for this blog. My mom keeps us all informed daily of Jordan's progress but it's amazing to hear it from your view point and see the strength that you have. Jordan has been and will continue to be in our prayers daily. We love you both and know the Lord will comfort you in this time. Tell Jordan to keep the smile on his face he always has and that we love him. Thanks Wendi for this again.

Thank you so much for the update. You are such an example to me and I want you to know how glad I am that Jordan has you in his life. (Even if he does think you are his aid :) It makes me just cry everytime I hear about him. Both tears of joy when it's good and tears of sorrow. We want you to know that you are both in our prayers. Even my kids pray every night for him. Also we will be fasting on Sun. Continue with your strengh and faithfullness.

Wendi, thank you for sharing this blog. It is a wonderful way to keep up. I haven't called because I know how hard it is to tell the same things over and over. Sharida brought me up to speed yesterday. Sounds like Jordan is making amazing progress. We are so thrilled. You are such a trooper. Hang in there. The Lord is mindful of his needs and will bless you both. You are an amazing girl!
